Hello friends and family!

2016 is the year I turn 30 and I decided I would mark the milestone with a terrifying act of folly! In March 2016, I'm going to throw myself out of a plane to raise money for Equation, a Nottingham-based charity that works to end domestic abuse and promotes equal, healthy relationships.

Life wouldn't have been so much fun for me these past 3 decades if I hadn't been supported by my wonderful family, friends and loved ones. Unfortunately, not nearly everyone has the opportunity to enjoy equal, healthy intimate relationships. A quarter of all British women will experience the emotional and physical trauma of domestic abuse at some point.

Domestic abuse is prolific, but it is not inevitable. The award-winning work Equation does to teach nearly 10,000 children each year about healthy relationships is absolutely vital in preventing unhealthy attitudes about love from developing. Equation also offers top-class domestic abuse training to the workers on the frontlines in our local community. This means our social workers, police officers, medical staff and children's workers can spot that someone is experiencing domestic abuse, and know how to support them.
