Story
Chocolate Chip was born at Lluest on the 5th June. Unfortunately at a week old Chip suffered trauma to his eye out in the field. The vets suggested trying to save his eye this meant he was on antibiotics and steroid eye drops up to 5 times a day. Chip and his mother had to stay in out of the sun light as Chips steroids dilated his pupil and the light would cause more damage. After a few months of treatments and vets visits we had the news we were dreading, there was no hope for Chips sight to return and the eye would have to be removed to prevent flies aggravating it. These first 3 months had already cost us £394.26 in vets fees alone!
We booked Chip in to the clinic to have his eye removed and also whilst under anaesthetic get castrated. Chip arrived at the vets the night before the operations and everyone was feeling nervous. The next day we had the call we were waiting for Chips operation was a success and he can come back to the trust the following day.
Chip is recovering well and is on a 5 day antibiotic course. We are so proud of this little foal as he has been such a brave boy and although we have been treating him every day he still loves a cuddle and a fuss. We think he knows we are trying our hardest to help him.
With the operation costing us a hefty £442.12 this lovely little boy has cost us £836.38 in vets bills. It is worth every penny watching this boy grow up to be a confident and loving foal.
Please help us cover the cost of Chips Vet Bills every penny counts.
