Just had a call from the group organisers asking if I want to do the trek a week earlier via a more extreme route? Sounds like my cup of tea :-) BRING IT ON!!! Approaching the half way mark with my sponsorship, thanks to everyone who has donated so far but still a long way to go so please help in any way you can. Thanks.

Feeling a little nervous today, am going to the hospice this afternoon to meet some of the staff and children who I am doing the climb for so they can show me what goes on. Am hoping the visit will inspire me to smash my £4000 target!!!!
Hi, for those of you who dont know me I'm Chris!!
I've got a nasty habit of climbing up things and jumping off them!! It started off with diving boards as a child and quickly progressed to bridges and mountains and even out of aeroplanes!!
Last year I thought I'd combine adrenaline seeking with fundraising to see if I could push my boundaries a little further AND raise much needed funds for charity.
SO! This June (2012) I will be climbing the worlds highest freestanding mountain, MT Kilimanjaro in Africa. The Trek will take 8 days to reach the summit and will take the climbers through 4 different climates from +28 degrees at the base to -28 degrees at the top!!
I will be doing this trek to raise money for the Butterwick House Childrens Hospice.
Butterwick House is located in Stockton-on-Tees in the North East of England. The Hospice provides care and support free of charge to children with life limiting illnesses from birth to 19 years of age and supports their families.
Butterwick House is part of Butterwick Hospice Care which is a registered charity no. 1044816. Butterwick House needs to raise over £880,000 each year to maintain the services it provides freely to children and their families.
Butterwick House is staffed by skilled and experienced professionals and trained volunteers. We work in partnership with families and other professionals involved in each child's care.
Butterwick House serves families from Teesside, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Wearside.
At Butterwick House the focus is on each child enjoying their stay while family members take a break from round the clock caring responsibilities.
