Story

2016 is Shakespeare's 400th birthday and yet 250 million children worldwide cannot read or write, let alone enjoy the wisdom, wit and meaning that Shakespeare has given so many people. That's a tragedy that you can help us overcome by donating to the VSO as part of the Shakespeare Lives campaign.

About the charity

VSO is the world’s leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO's high-impact approach involves bringing people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action, and change lives to make the world a fairer place for all. Everyday around 1,500 VSO volunteers are working in carefully selected placements, sharing their and experience and working to tackle poverty by empowering those really affected by it.
