Story
In 2014 the two of us were in a performance at IYAF based on Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales.
In the text a bunch of pilgrims trekking 60 miles from The Tabard Inn in Southwark to Canterbury Cathedral initiate a story telling competition to see them along the journey.
At the time of doing the show, we wondered if it was possible to do the pilgrimage, which takes a few days in Chaucer's work, in one go. And now, two years later, we're going to find out.
Starting from The George on Borough High Street (next door to where the Tabard Inn used to stand) at around 2am on April the 30th we'll attempt to walk 60 miles to Canterbury Cathedral, aiming to be there for around 9/10pm the same day.
We'll be raising funds for Creative Youth and the International Youth Arts Festival. A charity that has supported both of us, and countless other young people, in the past and one we hope to support now.
Creative Youth supports young people wanting to make professions in the creative industries - giving them access to the arts, mentorship schemes, guidance programmes and other platforms to help them onto their career ladder in these austere times.
Thanks so much for reading and for supporting.
Cheers,
Greg and Andy..
