Story
My name is Becky, and i am Nadines mum...and this is her story...
Nadine was born 13th November 1994 weighing 5lb 6oz. Nadine was first taken into hospital at 4weeks old and we were told she had bronchulitus. From the age of 4weeks up until 9months she had many admissions in hospital. They eventually done a sweat test which diagnosed her with Cystic Fibrosis.
Despite Nadines daily struggle and regular hospital admissions from a very early age she still managed to attend infant, junior and secondary school and came out with good grades and met many friends. She was a very outspoken, beautiful and determined young lady.
Nadine went onto college to study beauty therapy, which was a 2 year course but due to becoming very ill she only managed to complete just over a year. Before falling ill she managed to complete a couple of private courses being spray tanning and acrylic nails. These were things that Nadine was very fond of, these reflected in her personal appearence as she always liked to have a tan, eyelashes and nails done etc.
March 2012 was when Nadines illness started to get the better of her and she was told she needed a double lung and liver transplant. We were sent to Cambridge Hospital where we met with the transplant Drs and this is wher Nadine was told she was to poorly to go on the transplant list. We had second opinions which told us the same. This is when Nadine was told she only had 1year - 18months left to live. So she made a list of things that she wanted to do before this time. Which included spending a weekend in butlins with the whole of her family, a spa day with the girls, she wanted to meet the cast of TOWIE, meet Peter Andre and experience clubbing. Despite needing to have oxygen 24/7, a wheelchair to get around and a vast amount of medication she managed to do the majority of her list and at the same time became very good friends with Peter Andre. The only one she didnt manage to do was experience clubbing, as she had a special night planned with good friends and family at a local nightclub but just before going out the door to leave she slipped and broke her leg. So Nadine ended up spending the evening down the local hospital. But in all this Nadine still had a smile on her face.
1 week after Nadines fall on the 2nd March 2013 Nadine sadly passed away peacefully at Southampton General Hospital,Cystic Fibrosis Unit with myself and her dad by her side.
Since her passing we have discovered that Nadine partially created this Just Giving page. So in her memory we have finished off the page and would like to start fundraising in her name.
