Story
SkatePAL is a non-profit organisation that aims to spread the love of skateboarding in Palestine.

I will be travelling to Palestine for the month of August to teach skateboarding to the youth across the West Bank. I have been given the opportunity to teach something I love, while helping a community that I love, all while learning about my own home and heritage. The chance to help kids find a passion, feel free, and smile in this space is amazing, even if they're not skateboarding, this park is becoming a hub for the surrounding town to come together. I will be helping a lot to teach the girls, and this is something that I can't wait to share with them.
This is a very special opportunity to me and I'd appreciate any help if you'd like to support the cause as well.
Why Palestine?
- More than half of all Palestinians living in the occupied territories are under 21 years old.
- For many young people across the West Bank and Gaza, cultural, educational and sporting opportunities are severely limited.
- Help us engage these young people by creating a space they can claim as their own and through a sport they love.
Why Skateboarding?
- Skateboarding is one of the most inclusive sports in the world. It instantly dissolves barriers between class, race, age and gender.
- Skateboarding engages youth, relieves stress and helps to build confidence.
- Skateboarding isn’t hierarchical - it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a professional, a child or an adult.
- Skateboarding is fun!
I need to raise funds, 100% of which I raise will go to SkatePal (I will be supporting myself for travel & stay), but if you are unable to donate money, equipment is needed as well!
There are no skate shops in Palestine so a good stock is necessary. Right now, there is quite an overload of decks, so any other hardware is most welcome (trucks, wheels, bearings etc.) that I'm able to carry. If you want to donate equipment please reach out and we can arrange a meet/drop-off!
Thank you in advance.
