Story
Some of you know that I ran the London Marathon in 2011 for a children's charity named Action Medical Research - who at the time were running a research program into a potentially fatal bacteria which my boy Joshua survived as a baby in 2007.
I always said I'd run another after the 2011 event - and normally said 'in about 5 years' when people asked. So, here we are then. And who to run for? Joshua is 9 now, and so fit and active ... it seemed like an idea to find a charity helping young kids in the local area ... my search led me to 'Streetsport' - I'll let them describe their work below:
Streetsport is a non-profit ‘prevention, intervention and
diversionary tactics initiative’ based at RGU SPORT Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen that activity reduces instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour.
Established in 2006 we deliver free weekly sports & creative activity sessions for young people throughout Aberdeen City. We deploy mobile activity arenas directly into local communities and operate during peak times of anti-social behaviour.

The team rely 100% on donations and sponsorship to continue their work - so I really look forward to your support!
