Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Throughout 2016 I shall be taking part in a few different challenges in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Magpas Helimedix. They are a truly great cause who attended Ramsey Golf Course and worked tirelessly in vain to save my father who collapsed suddenly on 1 March 2015. They worked on him for over an hour and did everything they could to save him.
Magpas are a locally run charity who rely on the support of volunteers and fundraisers to keep their medics in the air and able to save many many lives.
With 3 out of the 4 scheduled challenges now completed (Loony Dook swim on New Years Day Raising £180 and National 3 Peaks Challenge in May raising £3,075 and 13,000ft Tandem Sky Dive raising £495 in July), I would really like to extend my sincere gratitude to all those who have helped me so far in raising such an amazing amount of money for Magpas. Massive thanks to Sara Head, Tom Owen, Andy Jones, Ryan Jones, Kat Owen, Philip Blake and Leanne Crutchfield who all successfully completed the 3 Peaks alongside me and to their friends/families who donated so generously to this page. As I am about to embark on my next/final challenge, I have decided to increase my 'target' from the revised £3,750 to £5,000 following our success so far. If we reach that target it will be truly sensational. This is such a worthwhile cause and deserve every penny that we can raise, so please keep giving to ensure they can continue to save lives.
So, on to my next (and as it stands at the minute my final) challenge......The Perkins Half Marathon on 9th October 2016. I will once again be wearing the Orange Colours of Magpas with huge pride and this time i will be aiming to complete the 13.1 mile route around the Peterborough area. It seems fitting that i end my fundraising challenge with an event that is sponsored by Perkins - the company that my late father worked for, for over 40 years, and who around his death, offered a huge support to my family. This will rank as the toughest challenge i have faced (which knowing how hard the 3 Peaks was, scares the life out of me) but one that i will simply crawl to the end if i have too. Training has begun and if you see me pounding the streets over the coming months wearing an orange Magpas T-shirt, why not pop on here and give a little donation to spur me on :)
