Story
Dear friends and family,
As many of you may know, I have been closely involved with the Graham Layton Trust (GLT) for over ten years, nearly five years of which as a Trustee. GLT, through its sister trust LRBT, provides free care for the treatment of curable eye diseases in Pakistan. We operate a network of 16 fully-equipped hospitals and 40 Community-Eye-Care centers across the country. The same level of care and attention is available to all patients, rich and poor, young and old, men, women and children. There is no discrimination on grounds of religion, gender, class or ethnicity.
We operate to the highest of standards, but with low costs and high success rates. For example, the cost of a cataract operation is approximately $28 for an adult and $75 for a child, with a success rate of over 95%. This is less than what most of us spend on a restaurant meal.
I ask that you join me in contributing to this worthy cause as part of my birthday celebrations and donate to the Trust in lieu of a gift for me.
Thank you for your support
David
