Story

Hi there and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is David Martin and i am a former Royal Marine but was fortunate enough never to get injured in operations unlike many Royal Marines of which we have all seen in recent years.

As you all know by now over the coming months and years i will be entering as many activities and runs all around the world as i can to raise funds for the lads. My aim is to run as much as i can, competing in half marathons, marathons, 5 & 10 Km runs and even some extreme runs as well! This truly is an awsome charity and you can see for yourselves if you go to www.cashforcommandos.co.uk and you will be able to see everything that is going on, everything thats has happened and all that is coming up. Also you can get t-shirts & wristbands to support and take part in different events throughout the year. Or you can quite simply make a donation to the charity. Either way your support is much appreciated and i will keep this page updated with events i have coming up and completed along with times, info, pictures etc...

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Cash 4 Commandos and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

So please dig deep and donate to this amazing charity. Thank You and all the best.

Whats Next?

For the moment the next event is the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on the 4th of Sept. This will be my third one and its sure to be a good one as we are hoping to have a really large group of runners for Cash For Commandos. If i get booked into any other event before this one i will update.

EVENTS 2010

05/09/2010 - Great Scottish Run 2010 Half Marathon 13.1 miles - Glasgow - www.runglasgow.co.uk - Completed. 1 hr 46 mins - 1979th of 8961 marathon runners - Nice day for this one but maybe a bit too warm and i thrashed myself to early so my legs felt like ton weights for the last 4 miles. Oh well live and learn.

17/10/2010 - Mens Health Survival of The Fittest 10k - Edinburgh - www.mhsurvival.co.uk - Completed. 57mins 30s - 508th of 1707 runners. Ended up a really nice day. I was in the second wave of about 280 people. Was fast paced and the obstacles weren't to bad but still challenging. Really enjoyed it as there was a good buzz, a great turnout and its something a bit different. You will see me here next year i reckon.

21/11/2010 - Cash For Commandos Santa Dash 5k - Troon - www.cashforcommandos.co.uk - Completed. 23mins 27s - This was a great little day out and the first C4C Santa Dash of many to come. It was a great turn out and although it was a very cold day, everyone was in good spirits and ran like mad to complete the 5km route through Troon in Ayrshire. well done to all that took part.

EVENTS 2011

08/01/2011 - Bupa Great Winter Run 5km - Edinburgh - www.greatrun.org - Completed. 23mins 47s - Fantastic day in Edinburgh at this event. Was a bit of a worry about getting there due to snow but got there in plenty of time. The route as expected was a snowy track around Arthurs Seat which was very picturesc and held a great atmosphere. Very cold but very worth it, coming in at a resonable 171st out of over 1200 runners.

17/04/11 - Scottish Half Kilomathon - 8.1 miles - Edinburgh - www.kilomathon.co.uk - Completed. 1 hr 5 mins. Well the event today was really enjoyable. A very scenic run, starting from the Royal Highland Show grounds at Edinburgh Airport and finishing up at the far side of the Forth Road Bridge. There was an awsome turnout and the weather was perfect. Beautiful sunshine with a little breeze. A few cheeky hills but nothing to nasty. 47th out of the 225 Half Kilomathon runners.

 EVENTS 2012

???
