Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2015, I will be volunteering with Retrak at their centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and the Fire Service.
Retrak works to transform highly vulnerable children's lives; preserve families; empower communities and give each of them a voice.
Retrak and its volunteers, put children at the very heart of everything they do and are fearless and tenacious in defending and promoting their rights. Retrak’s vision is to work towards a world where no child is forced to live on the street.
The volunteer work I will be involved in will include working alongside outreach services staff who put their own lives at risk everyday to engage with street children and offer them support at the centres. I will be working with highly vulnerable children in areas of conflict and disaster situations ensuring they are provided with a safe environment where they have access to a safe overnight shelter, food, clothing, medical services, education and counselling.
The end goal for Retrak is to reintegrate children with their families or a foster family, ensuring that the child no longer has to spend their life living on the streets where they are at risk of abuse and exploitation.

This is an excellent charity, and is one of the many charities that Greater Manchester Police raise money and awareness for each year.
I have a minimum target of £1850 to raise having already put froward £150 myself, so any money you can spare in supporting me, will be much appreciated.
