Debbie’s Run For Retts
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Justgiving page.
I am running the Virgin London Marathon for RETT UK. They are a fantastic charity doing amazing and outstanding work and I believe there is hope for the future.
On April 24th 2016 I will be running the London Marathon to help raise money for Rett UK.
Running is a passion of mine and has been for many years and it would mean so much to me if I could help and promote awareness for this amazing charity.
I would be grateful if you could make a donation and share my page to as many people you can to raise as much as possible for them to help change lives and give a brighter future to those affected by Rett Syndrome.
January 8th 2015 our beautiful little girl Olivia was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome.
With Rett Syndrome not being a widely known condition when we learnt of the symptoms and the effect it would have on our little princess we were absolutely devastated, my heart was broken and I felt totally numb to be told our daughters life would change forever.
Rett Syndrome is the most common genetic cause of severe
disability in females and those girls with the syndrome have profound multiple physical and learning disabilities most losing their ability to walk, talk and use their hands. Other effects can be Epilepsy and Scoliosis as each sufferer is affected in many different ways.
Currently there is no cure for Retts, however helping underfunded charities like Rett UK it will enable them to continue providing invaluable support and advice to families whilst being that friendly voice at the end of the phone to help explain the disability in more detail.
Rett UK offer help to people like you and me understand these girls to give them voice when they can’t provide their own!
All the money raised to go towards looking for treatments and medications that will help reduce the symptoms caused by Retts and hopefully one day will provide a cure.
Thankyou,
Love Debbie
