I have decided to go stone-cold ‘sober for October’ to raise some money for the charity Esteem, whose Trustee Board I chair. Not a drop of alcohol will pass my lips for 31 whole days…

Esteem is – for now – a relatively small charity based on the south coast that offers opportunities to young people who’ve had difficult starts in life to build or rebuild their self-esteem, employability and contribution to society through a wide range of voluntary activities, cultural exchange programmes, mentoring, bespoke training, etc, etc. I strongly believe that self-confidence is as vital to a young person’s career as the tangible skills they acquire – this is close to my heart and something I feel really passionate about.
