Story
Doireann Rose Hassett was 27 years old when she died in her sleep on 26th May 2012. We feel her loss so deeply already.
Doireann had extensive disabilities and suffered from Dravet's Syndrome. She had her first epileptic fit at 5 months old. Despite her profound disabilities, Doireann was a character and loved engaging with people and participating in family life.
Her funeral will be held at 11.30am on 13th June 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Leicester, followed by a burial of her ashes at 12 pm at St David's Church, Mulrankin, nr. Bridgetown, Co.Wexford, Ireland on 16th June. We would love to see any friends and family who can make either ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, we would be very grateful indeed if you would consider making a donation to Menphys so that other chidren and young adults might benefit from Doireann's legacy. This is a wonderful charity which supports mentally and physically disabled people and their families. The Sports & Play Team in particular provided immense support to Doireann and are in desperate need of funds to enable them to continue their work. Donating to this charity will help other children like Doireann to experience independance and normality and provide support for their families.
We have been inundated with kindness and want to sincerely thank everyone for their love and messages of support.
The Hassett Family.
