We provide family-led care and support to life-limited children across Yorkshire

Every two years, members of the Engineering Centre team take on a challenge for a local charity of personal significance. This year, the arrival of a new team member Stacey, has brought a new charity to our attention.

Martin House supported Stacey's family through an ordeal that is probably unimaginable for most of us. Her account of their work, both then and through her subsequent volunteering at the hospice, left us in no doubt that we wanted to support this amazing charity.

As with our previous charity events we are looking to raise money by completing a sponsored walk; this time 100km in the Yorkshire Dales.

The challenge will commence on the afternoon of the 8th June 2016, with the 27 strong team (comprising walkers and support crew) aiming to walk throughout the night, reaching the finish line the following afternoon. The group will take a circular route, split into four 25km sections with "pit stops" in between. The highest point will be 2,148ft with a total ascent of 11,726ft.

This is a tough challenge, and will test our endurance and stamina, but with such a great cause spurring us on, the level of determination in the team is inspiring.

We are looking for both corporate sponsors: 10km sections and team T-Shirt logos; and personal sponsors either through a team member or this website. In truth we'll take any donation in any form; in previous years, we've beaten our target by at least 50% which is a tradition we're very keen to preserve.
