Story

I'm a wildlife biologist and have recently returned from 7 years in Swedish Lapland studying my PhD on golden eagles. This study focused on aspects of habitat selection and reproduction. Since returning to the UK I have done voluntary work for the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust in Slimbridge and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

The extent to which charities are dependent on charitable support is something I am very much aware of, having had epilepsy myself for over 20 years and having been involved in fundraising in the past for the National Society for epilepsy. Vale House in Oxford is a smaller charity and therefore more dependent on external funds which is why my contribution during Strictly Oxford 2016 will be so valuable to help improve facilities for advanced dementia patients.
