Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page,in memory of my Grandad, Eric Thornhill.

Grandad was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer on 25th April 2014  and he passed away peacefully on 30th May 2014, after spending 2 weeks at Halton Haven Hospice. Although he deteriorated quite rapidly, he did not lose his sense of humour and positive outlook on life, and he fought until his very last breath for his family, still always thinking of us before himself.

Halton Haven Hospice is such an amazing place and they not only allow their patients to die with dignity, but support family members to allow them to be just that; family and not carers. It truly is a special kind of care. There is nothing we can say to express how grateful we are for all that they did for Grandad and for us, but raising some money for them will go some way to thanking them.

We are comforted to know that Grandad's memory will live on in his friends and that he meant so much to such a lot of people. Your messages are so lovely to read.
