I have created this page to allow people to give money to Eileen and Georgie's favourite charity. You can still give flowers if you want and/or you can help raise a huge sum of money to continue the work that Eileen and her family have dedicated so much time to.
A charity that does not take a single penny in administration or salary costs.
A charity that uses every penny of your money to try and fight those diseases that take our loved ones away from us.
I am Eileen's surgeon and Georgie has asked me to set this page up and say a few words. I am honoured to be asked and, am privileged to have met Eileen and her family. Some eight years ago Eileen had her first (of many) operations for her cancer. At the time I would have given her probably a 1% chance of being alive five years down the line. It is a testimony to her courage, strength, overwhelming happy outlook and determination to lead a full and enjoyable life (with her cancer coming a very poor second place) that she managed to bat this disease away for so long. A truly remarkable woman; a loving and fantastic mother; a full on nanny (although she would hate me to tell anyone as she only looked in her 30's) and a loyal and devoted wife. I had the pleasure of knowing Eileen through her entire illness - a time when anyone would be at their most vulnerable and, understandably, their lowest and most angry period. Not Eileen. I never heard a single moan about her treatment or the disease until she was clearly close to the end. Even then she held herself with a dignity that was awe-inspiring. Only October gone she was on the dance floor at the latest charity event.
I hope that you will help remember Eileen by giving generously. It is a way we can all help others and keep her fight continuing even though, sadly, not for herself anymore.
Thank you Georgie for asking me to share this message from Eileen with you all. I will not forget that cheeky smile and wonderful warmth that she bathed the world with.
