Story
- Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page
For my birthday I'd like, with assistance from you,
To give a huge vote of thanks and a financial boost to:
Beechwood Cancer Care Centre who say
They need three thousand pounds to run for a day
Staffed by a group of free volunteers,
Looking after the sick for almost twenty five years,
It's impossible not to be overcome with praise
For people who simply spend all of their days,
Giving for free their attention and care,
Helping those in the midst of despair,
I'm sure you will recognise their marvellous vocation,
And they will appreciate your every donation.
So over to you, it’s a present to me,
But a worthier cause you're unlikely to see.
Thank you, Elaine.
This is my story:
As most of you know I have just turned 60 years old and am having a
celebration party in December.
I have requested no presents but would love you to donate to a very worthy
cause- The Beechwood Cancer Care Center
I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2012. I went through surgery,
chemotherapy and radiotherapy. During that time I attended the Beechwood
and it was my oasis. For one day a week I could escape from my treatment
and be looked after and pampered by this wonderful charity.
I was given complementary therapies such as reiki or a relaxing
massage.
No worries about food as we were all fed the most amazing lunch.
I had a counsellor who I could talk to about anything, who listened
to my worries and helped me.
The Beechwood Cancer Care Center guided me through a very
difficult time and I will always be grateful.
It needs to be there to help all those cope with the shock of
being diagnosed with cancer.
Whatever you can generously give will benefit so many people.
