Story
As some of you already know, we lost our little girl Eliza on 11th June 2013. Sarah developed severe pre-eclampsia and, after a week in hospital, she was stillborn. She is buried with her Great Grandma in a beautiful place in the countryside surrounded by birdsong. We miss her dearly.
In her memory, we set up this JustGiving page to raise money for Action on Pre-eclampsia. Many of you were good enough to get us up to £2,000. Now, we want to get to £5,000. In late June, by brother-in-law and I are going to attempt to walk the Rothschild Way from Woodwalton Fen to Wicken Fen (a distance of 39 miles) in 39 hours. That doesn’t sound like much, but we are also going to attempt to see over 100 species of bird in the process. Please support us and give generously.
Worldwide, 76,000 women and 500,000 babies (1,000 in the UK) die every year from the condition. In Latin America, it is the number one cause of maternal death. The problem is no one really understands why pre-eclampsia happens and the only known cure currently is the removal of the placenta (and delivery of baby). We are sorry that the condition took you, precious little one.
