Story
The last two years have been peppered with big, stressful, fun, filling, drunken and incredibly rewarding dinner parties hosted for my nearest and dearest. Every time I've said I wouldn't do it again. And every time I change my mind... and invite more people!
This year I'm aiming to raise £1000 for Radio Marsden. Since last July I have been volunteering as a DJ there once a week running the patient's request show. I have met some amazing people - patients and fellow volunteers alike, and I would love to help the next stage of our fundraising challenge.
Just before Christmas, we spent around £40,000 completely refurbishing the studio at the Sutton hospital, which has been falling apart for a number of years. Next on our hit-list? The Chelsea studio, which has been out of action for the past 10 years since it was damaged by water in fire-fighting efforts. At the moment, patients at the Chelsea hospital listen to the Sutton request show, but with their studio up and running they would be able to get the same, personalised and dedicated request show service that we currently provide the patients at the Sutton site. Your money goes 100% towards the rebuild fund, because Radio Marsden is run solely by volunteers like myself.
Please donate whatever you feel your night is worth to this amazing little charity. From someone that has seen first hand the difference music makes to these people's lives and time in hospital, as well as their family and friends, your money really does make a difference.
