Story
As ever, 2016 sees me being as ridiculously busy as ever. So i've decided it's the perfect time to take on an epic physical challenge to raise money for my beloved Choir with No Name.
On Sunday 31st July, I'll be taking part in my first cycle sportive (fancy word!) - it's only 46 miles but I'm meant to cycle it really fast.....or else risk being chucked off the course (no really!). I currently can't cycle really fast. Help. (https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/events/46/)
On Saturday 24th September, I'll be swimming a mile in the chilly Serpentine. You know, a mile, like that REALLY long swim you did to get a nice badge when you were a kid. I always thought I quite liked swimming, but i've realised I like paddling. Turns out they're not the same thing. Help. (https://www.swimserpentine.co.uk/)
At some point (probably early Oct if I'm still alive), I'm going to throw a 5k run in, to make this a triathlon of sorts. On the surface, this sounds like the easiest part of the challenge. It's not. I can't run for longer than 5 minutes. Actually, I can't run at all. I can only do a sort of slow shuffle that at best could be described as a jog. From the right angle. If you were being kind. I often have nightmares about being made to run (for realz) and have never run (jogged) more than 4k in one go when I was significantly fitter than I am now. HELP.
I have no time to train......I hate running more than I hate raw tomatoes (ie A LOT).....BUT! I'm prepared to do this for the best cause in the world. Enough of my yakking, please help make it worth it and give me all your money! Or at least some of it :-)
