Story
I took part in the Prudential London Surrey race on 10th August, and together with 20,000 other riders completed the 86 mile (138 km) course, shortened due to the awful weather. Soon after my start the rain began and for much of the route battled against the remnants of tropical storm 'Bertha'. As well as rain and strong winds the road was flooded in many places with added hidden pot holes as hazards. I survived around the tour without punctures and was pleased with my finishing time.
I would be very happy to receive any small donations for Calcutta Rescue to mark this occasion.
Thank you very much, Malcolm

Unbelievable a year has past (all hair grown back!) This year instead of sending paper Christmas cards we're giving a donation to our favourite charity.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
EVA & MALCOLM TO SHAVE THEIR HEADS FOR CHARITY
We met in 1989 while travelling around India and independently we also ‘discovered’ Jack Preger’s work on the streets of Calcutta. Eva visited the Middleton Row clinic with a friend and it made such an impression on them that they helped to start up the Swedish charity ‘Hjälp Calcutta’ when they returned home to Stockholm. When Malcolm moved to Sweden shortly after, they realised that they both had common friends from Calcutta.
In 1992 we went back to India and Calcutta. This time with funds collected by Calcutta Rescue - Sweden that had been raised through charity sales and a fundraising party. During this visit we both worked for a short while at the Nimtala Ghat clinic which was extremely rewarding.
As we are now embarking on our anniversary trip back to where we met 20 years ago we would like to do our bit to raise some money towards Calcutta Rescue which is now celebrating 30 years.
We are not fit enough to do a sponsored trek across the subcontinent, run a marathon or do a triathlon but instead we will... shave our heads for charity and we hope that you will be willing to donate something towards this really good cause. Any amount, however small or large, will be most appreciated. We promise to post pictures, both when we are having the shave done, mid December, during the trip and when we reach Calcutta sometime during February 2010.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks,
Eva&Malcolm
