Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2011 my little girl Eva was born with a life limiting genetic disorder called Edwards Syndrome, or Trisomy 18, she lived for 9 weeks. Hospice Isle of Man's children's wing, Rebecca House have a special place of rest called The Rainbow Room. Having access to this room allowed us as a family to visit Eva until the day of her funeral.
As a thank you to the care they showed us as a family and to the dignity they showed Eva after she passed, we created 'Eva Roses Garden' within their grounds. The garden is a sensory/interactive area created especially for the children of Rebecca House. Their friends and family can use it too. It took 2 years to fundraise for. We met some amazing people along the way. Mountains were climbed, lakes swam, cakes baked and hair shaved off!
Now it's my turn as Eva's mummy to raise some funds for a special interactive fountain that we'd like to put in the garden.
Grief can do funny things to you, mentally and physically. In the 4 years since Eva died I'm not ashamed to say my health and fitness levels where not my No.1 priority. Seeing everyone's fundraising efforts inspired me to sort myself out! In the coming year I intend to do a number of physical challenges, New Years Day dip, 5k runs, The Parish Walk, Toughmann, the Manx Ultra Marathon route 24hr hike and goodness knows what else... there will be some buddies joining me for a few of these challenges so I'll keep posting updates of how we're all getting on.
