Sumatran orangutans are critically endangered and without urgent action they could be the first great ape species to become extint!...and the charity i have chosen has only recently come to my attention as we hear more about Borneo orangutans than the Sumatran Orangutan especially with the Orangutan diaries and Orangutan Island series, so it got me thinking if i havent heard of this species how many others are unaware...through facebook stories being shared through a friend i have become very aware of the critical plight n crisis they are in especially with the fires ripping through their habitats and the deforestation making way for the palm oil industries, plantations replacing their habitats, even being torn down with orangutans still in them, shooting the mother and taking the baby to sell as a pet...just heart breaking especially as they are innocent in this destruction and so endearing in so many ways, such an incredible species, very special and i want to help make a difference by helping this amazing charity in protecting the orangutans, their habitats/forests and their future....

The Orangutan, which means 'Person of the Forest' are amoung our closest living relative in the animal kingdom sharing 96.4% of our DNA, and this is writen on the top i will be wearing when i will be falling for the orangutans whilst doing a tandem skydive...they are fab tops, i took a picture of myself and posted to S.O.S.'s charity wall plus my own to show my support, raise awareness and to try and sell more t-shirts and it worked, with thanks to my friends and any others who have made a purchase through their site and my firends then sharing it on their page too....through this fundraiser i hope to raise loads of sponsorship money/funds and awareness of the importance of conservation, protecting species and their habitats and educating people, and hope people will go onto their site to make purchases, whether it be a t-shirt, donations, adopting an orangutan to becoming a member, sharing the awareness with friends and maybe doing your own fundraiser as every little helps and i know times are hard but wildlife is in a great termile and need us to help them now more than ever and i will never give up as having a huge passion for wildlife from an early age its in my heart and i want to give back to what gives me so much inspiration and humbleness....i am a wildlife artist and through my art i show my appreciation and donate to different charities and i have a new limited edition coming out of a mother and baby holding on to each other and i have spoken to the charity, lovely lady Helen that i would have much pleasure in donating the first copy of the limited edition giclee print for up n coming event and for the other copies i will donate 5% of the sale price to S.O.S....

Please help me help make a difference to the Sumatran Orangutans as they need us during this critical time in crisis, help me raise a huge amount to help Sumatran Orangutan Society continue to protect them, their forest and their future as we need every living creature in the world...remember once they and their forests are gone they are gone, it cant be replaced we need to help protect now....

Sadly the initial skydive date has now changed due to bad weather conditions on the 23rd September but now has been rebooked for the 14th October so fingers crossed for a fine day :o) Still excited and looking forward to that freefall ;o))
