We support people to face disfigurement with confidence

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In Financial Institutions at Lloyds Bank we have adopted Changing Faces as one of our local charities.

We have hired the indoor nets at The Oval for a couple of hours on the evening of 8th September and have booked two former England fast bowlers, Simon Jones and Matthew Hoggard, for an event where you, yes you, will get the chance to find out what it is like to stand at the business end of a 22 yard cricket strip, preparing to 'face' your fears.

Changing Faces is a charity for people and families who are living with conditions, marks or scars that affect their apperance.

Their work is divided into two areas:

Changing Lives:

They aim to help individuals lead full, confident and satisfying lives. They give practical and emotional suppport to adults, children and their families. They also provide training, support and advice to professional in health and education.

Changing Minds:

They aim to transform public attitudes towards people with an unusual appearance. Their goal is 'face equality' and they promote fair treatment and equal opportunities for all. They campaign for social change: lobbying for integrated health services; influencing schools and workplaces to create more inclusive environments; and pushing for anti-discrimination protection and enforcement.
