Story
Why don't you take your lunch to work tomorrow and the £3 you might save - donate to us! or maybe have one less pint over the weekend and the £3 you save - send out way.
As many of you know I have been volunteering with The Pearl of Africa Children's Choir for about five years and finally I'm going to be heading out there in April this year, along with some Edge Hill students. We am going to be spending our time volunteering between Kampala and Kamazinda within the schools, clinic, children's homes and farm schools.
At the moment we don't have a set project in mind as until we get there and assess where we can make the biggest difference in the time we have we don't want to commit to a certain 'thing'.
Whatever we decide upon though is going to cost money and so we are currently fundraising before we go to enable us to really make a difference whilst we are out there.
We have put £3 as a suggested donation because in real terms £3 will ensure that one child has a cup of porridge every day they are at school for a whole year. Whilst we many not use all the money we raise for food (many schools already have feeding programmes set up by other amazing volunteers in the UK) it just helps represent the different you are able to make with just a small amount of money.
Obviously donations of more than £3 would be very much appreciated and don't forget to Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer.
Thanks for taking the time to visit our page, we will make sure that when we get back, we send you the photos and stories from our trip so you can see what we did with your donation.
