Story
Hi all! First off thanks for taking the time to drop by and visit my JustGiving page. If you're reading this, you're already eligible for one of my not-so-famous-but-ought-to-be-maybe baked goods (probably a brownie).
So what will I be doing this summer? I'll be cycling from the city of... tubes to the city of... love... That's London to Paris embarking on the 20th July, with my good friend Simon.
I pride myself on cycling badly a full 2.5 miles to and from work each day, so 299 miles from the capital of England to la capitale de la France should basically be like an extended commute... right? Perhaps I need to oil my chain.
In all seriousness though I will be training throughout the year to make sure I can physically do this and I can think of no better incentive to get fit (which is a personal life goal long overdue).
So without further a do, the charity I've chosen to support by treading pedal is Barnsley Hospice. The incredible specialist palliative care provided by the hospice is outstanding and what's more it's free of charge for the patients and relatives. Having said that of course, it isn't free to provide and does rely upon continued support via donations and fundraising events. They do an absolutely outstanding job at Barnsley Hospice and I hope to be able to contribute something towards that with your help in this small way.
I'm attaching the link here for those who'd like to learn more about the hospice:

If you're able to offer a donation it would be hugely appreciated, and please do copy and paste the url of this page to share around those you know. I'll be updating this page to keep you informed of my progress in all things bicycle-related. Also if it gathers attention I'll add in a few quirks (e.g. I will randomly cycle to a particular place in/around the Edinburgh area between now and July at your request- drop that into the comments with your donation and I'll post a photo of my bike with the paper of the day at that exact spot... Like some strange hostage situation.) I'll also be updating the page on each leg of bike ride in July, and knowing Simon he'll probably be filming the whole thing too so you can witness our pain in HD.
Thank you very much for reading!
Fred
