We provide free accommodation and support to families with critically ill children

Story

On 17th July 2015, our son, Henry, suffered a serious burns injury to 60% of his body. He spent the next 3 months in Bristol Children's Hospital Burns Unit and continues to undergo regular operations and recovery treatment, led by the unit.

During this incredibly traumatic time, we were fortunate enough to be able to stay in Bristol to support Henry, but only due to the facilities provided by the Ronald Macdonald House charity. We were given accommodation for the whole period of our stay including space for our other son, which really did make a huge difference to our ability to cope with the situation as a family. Due to the nature of his injuries, we may well need to stay with them again in the future. We would like to show our gratitude to RM Bristol and help them to support other families going through traumatic times, by raising as much money as possible.

Along with 7 other intrepid adventurers (Danni, Tim, Jimmy, Rob L, Rob E, Mark, Barney), Nick will be scaling 24 Lake District peaks in 24 hours, exactly a year after the accident. We have been repeatedly warned that the challenge is too tough to be completed, due to the terrain and possible exhaustion. However, the team are determined to be successful and are training hard to put themselves in the best position possible.

Any money you are able to give will inspire us to complete this challenge and will go directly to the RM Bristol charity, who can continue to support families in need.

Many, many thanks for making a difference.
