Hi friends and family,

We are thrilled to be getting married and can't wait for what we hope will be an amazing day (and night) of celebrations. Even more importantly, we're looking forward to a wonderful life together. 

As you know, gay marriage is a recent innovation - in the UK it's only been legal for just over a year, and Ireland is voting to approve (or reject) it just days before our wedding. We have come so far and so fast; it was only in 1967 years ago that homosexuality was legalised and now we have equal rights. 

Meanwhile in many parts of the world, gay men and women live in fear. Just being open puts them in physical danger. They cannot even start to imagine the freedoms that we enjoy in Britain. And so, as we start the rest of our lives, we'd love our friends and family to make a contribution to Stonewall which fights for gay right. In particular we'll be supporting their international division which fights to support the men and women in the 77 counties around the world where just being in a same sex relationship is illegal.
