Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We entered a four man team into the Marathon des Sables (MdS) that took place in Apr 2016.
The event was described by the Discovery Channel as ‘The Toughest Footrace in the World’ (check it out at www.marathondessables.co.uk). It required the team to complete six desert marathons in six days across the Sahara desert, carrying all our own food and kit.
Our team finished 5th of 32 teams with all 4 of us finishing individually in the top 250 (2 in top 100!)
Why did we do it?
1. To raise awareness the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST).
AFPST is a truly inspiring service charity that desperately needs more funding to continue to transform the lives of our wounded, injured and sick service men, women and veterans through adaptive snowsports. (www.AFPST.co.uk).
2. To raise money for AFPST.
3. To inspire others.
Our objective was to to push for a competitive finish. We hoped that through this example others will gain the confidence to set big goals and chase them in the aid of great causes.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Whatever you or your organisation can afford to give will really make a huge difference and justify the most unpleasant pre-event training programme that you can possibly imagine!
