This is my Mum.She died of Pancreatic Cancer on the 4 November 2006.

 

In the prime of her life, at the age of 65, she was told she only had weeks to live.Tragically a short 16 weeks later she died leaving behind two daughters and a grandchild. Three years ago, I also lost my dear friend Susan Hobbs, who, following a courageous battle with cancer lost her life on 15 August 2010. She was 42.

 

This devastating story has become an all too common one affecting many families in today’s society. On September 3rd 2011, I successfully swam the English Channel as part of a relay team. The amazing support for this event enabled me to raise £18,000.00 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.  On July 7th 2012, twelve adventurous people took part in a sky dive, jumping from a height of 13,000 feet from Sibson Airfield over beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside. And on August 26th 2013, a group of 28 hardy Coton folk (13 adults and 15 kids) climbed Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, a 8-hour round-trip. Limited research funding in the past has contributed to the current survival rate of those diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer being only 3%, this figure has not improved in 40 years.
