We campaign against pseudoscience to encourage curiosity and rational thought

Story

Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) are responsible for local NHS spending. Earlier this year, The Good Thinking Society brought an action for Judicial Review against Liverpool CCG, challenging its decision to fund homeopathy – a decision we believed to be unlawful, and contrary to the best interest of patients.

A few days ago, Liverpool CCG agreed that its decision-making process was flawed and decided to open a new consultation on whether or not to fund homeopathy. This is a major success in our campaign against homeopathy in the NHS.

Preparing for the Judicial Review took a lot of staff time and incurred significant legal costs. Because we were successful, we will recover most of our legal costs, but we still require £10,000 to cover ongoing expert legal advice and to play a role in the upcoming Liverpool CCG consultation on homeopathy. Moreover, we will be exploring similar legal challenges to homeopathy elsewhere in the NHS.

Please donate now to help us continue to build robust cases, helping ensure we are able to put forward forceful legal arguments against provision of homeopathy on the NHS.
