As many of you know (I've banged on about it) I'm running my first marathon because apparently running a 10k race every month and running 22miles over Snowdon doesn't make me a runner and all everyone wants to know is "have you ever done a marathon?" So YES, I WILL DO A MARATHON. 

I was originally going to run it purely for selfish reasons and not raise money or charity because I actually hate being asked for sponsorship for things and wasn't keen on being 'That Girl'. However, I recently thought "hang on, why don't I use this to give something to a cause I care about?!" Now, again, as many people know, im dead keen on exciting looking birds and animals - and, if any one has every had the pleasure to visit a rainforest you'll know they're FULL of exciting looking birds and animals (and awesome trees and plants and indigenous people who don't have a choice in their homes being ripped down so massive corporations can have palm oil and farm cattle and everything that goes with our desire to eat a shit load of meat  - Google it) As well as this they are crucial to the lives of EVERYONE ON THE PLANET, because frankly not having oxygen would suck. 

There's some disgusting facts about the rate the rainforests are being torn down: deforestation is responsible for nearly 25% of global annual Co2 emissions, way more than the entire global transport sector.

The Amazon rainforest alone loses 20,000 square miles every year - that's pretty much half of England. And globally 122,000 square miles are lost every year. That's bigger than Italy.

I don't want to nag but the rainforest is a big deal.

I'm raising money for this purely because I feel it is such an important cause. I already have my race entry, hotel booked and flight bought so absolutely everything I raise is going directly to Rainforest Concern. I completely understand if you don't want to give anything, but if you don't then please atleast Google the charity and have a look at how important and AWESOME rainforests are.
