I work for Safetynet a charity whose primary aim is to provide healthcare services to the marginalised members of our society. We do this in many different ways - one key area is the Mobile Health Clinic we run in conjunction with Dublin Simon in Dublin City Centre 3 nights a week.We have seen well over 1000 patients during these sessions the majority of whom are Rough Sleepers and have very little access to healthcare.

Our remit is to bring the service to where the clients are and that is why our partnership with the Dublin Simon Rough Sleeper Team is so important. Safetynet provides the GP's who work on the unit every night.

The Mobile Unit is 25 years old and in desperate need of replacement. Safetynet and Dublin Simon are having a cyclathon event on Sat May 7th on South King Street from 9am to 9pm. The aim is to raise €100,000 to fund the purchase of a new Mobile Health Unit which will allow us to continue to provide vital healthcare services to people experiencing homelessness. The challenge will see 10 doctors and other service providers on the Mobile Health Clinic cycling on stationary bicyles for 12 hours straight, aiming to collectively cycle over 3,400km, the distance the unit covers in a year.

Please help us and me reach our goal. I would sincerely appreciate it. Thanks in advance.!
