IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) is a disease in which in which tissue deep in your lungs becomes thick and stiff, or scarred, over time. As the lung tissue thickens, your lungs can't properly move oxygen into your bloodstream and as a result, your brain and other organs won't be able to get as much oxygen as they need.
IPF, at the moment, has no cure, and people usually only live 2-5 years after diagnosis. One of the ways to expand the lifespan and improve the life of someone diagnosed with IPF is to have a lung transplant. However, spare lungs don't come around everyday, and it's not a given that you'll survive the transplant.
The reason that I'm doing this is because my dad has recently been diagnosed with IPF and is going through a process to decide whether or not he is suitable to have a lung transplant. I hope I can raise some awareness for this disease and also raise funds for the research of IPF so it can be possible to find a cure in the future and so the cause of the disease can be found.
So if you're interested in helping out, share this around a bit and if you see me around then it'll be a huge help if you sponsored me (you don't have to donate much, just as much as you can spare), or you can message me or text me and I'll put your name down on the sponsor sheet. I'll collect the sponsor money once I've shaved my hair.
Thanks for any support you can give ^_^
