In 2015 I am running 3 x 10km, 10 x half marathons and 1 x full marathon in memory of Oscar Hughes, a 9 year old boy from Dunnington, York, who died from a brain tumour in 2014.

Oscar's family and friends have set up a charity in his memory and the money donated to OSCAR's PBTC will be used towards research into better treatments and potential cures for paediatric brain tumours.

The runs include the freezing cold Brass Monkey, the brutal Harewood House, Redcar, Wirral, Leeds, Sheffield, York, Humber, Liverpool, Wolds and Wistow. I am funding the entry fees myself (over £300) so would appreciate any donation you can make. Thanks again, John

OSCAR’s PBTC (Ongoing, Support, Care and Research into Paediatric Brain Tumours Charity) was formed in the summer of 2014 by the parents and friends of Oscar Hughes, a 9 year old boy who died of a Medulloblastoma on the 3rd of May 2014. The journey Oscar went on for a year to try and be free of cancer was both heartbreaking and inspiring to see. The treatments involved to fight Brain Tumours have devastating effects on a young body and mind. This is unacceptable and the only way to change this is by researching these cancers and find better treatments. The charity aims to fund critical research into paediatric brain tumours with the hope to find a cure and less devastating treatments. The Charity works closely with other charities.
