Story
I have made hundreds and hundreds of delicious homemade chocolate truffles to sell to raise money for The Haven but if you can't come to my sale, please donate generously on this page. I am hoping that I can raise more money than last year when we made mince pies and raised £1010.
In August, I visited The Haven and was given a tour. I was really impressed by the space they have. There is a lovely library full of useful books, an area to just sit down and have a cup of tea and lots of happy, friendly people about. There is a beautiful Tree of Life, an amazing stained glass window and lots of different coloured, light and spacious treatment rooms. It didn't feel anything like a hospital! The Haven is a wonderful place to go if you have breast cancer. Visitors can go there as often as they like and try out lots of different sorts of treatments (for free) that have been specially chosen to help people who have breast cancer and are having chemotherapy or radiotherapy. There they can talk to other people if they are worried and can get advice. All the staff there are extremely well trained and each treatment is particularly good for healing cancer. Nearly all of the visitors there are on a sugar, wheat and dairy free diet and there are nutritionists and cooks who make delicious, healthy food and can advise on home cooking.
100% of the money I raise from my truffle sale (and Mummy's mince pie sale) along with any donations on this page will go to The Haven and will hopefully really help some sick and worried women.
Thank you very much,
Love Martha Inglis
