Xavier Project intends to expand their Tamuka Hubs in Kampala so that refugee children can enjoy learning in a safe place and refugee adults can learn the skills they need to support their livelihoods

Story

In a few moments of madness I have signed myself up to two half marathons. The first will be the Tigoni Trail run through the very hilly tea fields just outside Nairobi, in the blistering heat of December and at an altitude of 5000ft. The second will be running through the streets of Paris in a very chilly March.

I am running for Xavier Project's Safe Spaces campaign. With your help Xavier Project will expand their Tamuka Hubs in Kampala, Uganda, so that refugee children can enjoy learning in a safe place and refugee adults can learn the skills they need to support their livelihoods.

The refugee crisis in Europe has come with lots of challenges to all involved and ideas for responding to it have not looked enough at the root causes behind large scale migration by dangerous migration routes. Education at the point of origin spreads awareness to refugees and potential migrants about their rights and the situation they are in, and gives them the skills to integrate into their new environment.

I have never done anything like this before so please give generously!
