Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In many cases plagiocephaly and brachycephaly are invisible to the naked eye. In some cases, however, the condition may not be obvious and are only indicated by measurement. For more information please look up headstart4babies page.

Danny's head first started changing shape at around 8weeks, he got referred to see a pediatrician, like most cases the peditrician said that it was cosmetic and that in time it should correct, but there was no guarentee it would. The NHS don't offer any treatment for this, as they see Danny's case as purely cosmetic.

However, I did lots of research on Dannys condition and found that in most cases it does not correct itself. In fact more and more babies are being diagnosed with this condition as a result of the 'back to back' guidelines.  I got in touch with Technology in Motion in Glasgow which is a private clinic, they have treated more than about 5000 babies. They measured and assesed Danny's head and told me that in fact, Danny has both plagiocephaly and severe brachycephaly. Treatment is available via a nonintrusive helmet which is moulded to Danny's exact head shape, which in time will gradually correct the shape of his head, with fortnightly visits required to adjust the helmet when needed. The cost for the helmet is £2,500. Please give what you can to help wee Danny Boy xoxo

Please keep checking this just giving page where I will keep you updated with Danny's progress. Thanks Michelle & Stevie xo
