Story

Young carers are some of the most vulnerable young people in society and they need your support.

I work for Gaddum, Manchester oldest Social Welfare Charity managing Salford Carers Centre. To support the cities almost 3,000 carers, under the age of 17, I'll be running/ walking 1,000+k over the next 10 months to raise as much as possible to give them breaks, activities & individual support.

Nearly all will be on the fells/ in the mountains & I will provide regular updates here, monthly updates via the web site www.salfordyoungcarers.org with Garmin reports on twitter @YACSalfordCarer

These young people receive no funding for activities and are entitled to no statutory funding so every penny counts and your support is very welcome. Please circulate to friends and colleagues, please raise awareness of this hidden phenomena of young people as young as 4 caring for family members.
