Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory of our beautiful daughter, Katherine.

In July 2015, Katherine was just 17 years old when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Rhabdomyosarcoma.  Despite receiving excellent treatment, she lost her battle with this aggressive disease on 25th August 2016.  Throughout her illness, Katherine always remained positive, continuing her education and successfully completing her A-Levels in June 2016.

Katherine and her family received support from The Boom Foundation and other charities during her illness.

Sarcoma is one of the rarest forms of cancer; therefore it does not receive the same levels of investment into research and support for its suffers as other, more common cancers.  The Boom Foundation is the only charity in N Ireland specifically helping sarcoma patients.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
