Story
I donated a whopping 42cm (in a plait, so longer if straight) that weighed a pretty hefty 62g! =D
Hello there,
As part of a team of wonderful people I am taking part in The Big Cut on the 3rd October.. a charity hair chop to donate at least 17cm of my very own hair to The Little Princess Trust. This charity donates real-hair wigs to boys and girls around the UK and Ireland who have sadly lost their own due to cancer. My page picture shows the shortest I have ever had my hair since the approximate age of 4!
I would like to say a big thank you to Hot Head hair salon on West Nicolson Street who have very kindly offered to style my hair for me on the 4th October free of charge! This is extremely generous of them! As such, as well as donations I would also appreciate hairstyle suggestions from you all!
As well as donating my hair to The Little Princess Trust, I am also hoping to raise some money for Health Poverty Action, a charity that I have raised funds for in the past.
Health Poverty Action work with the poorest, most remote and most marginalised people (those missed out by other charities) around the world to challenge the social, economic and political factors that lead to poor health. They believe health is a social justice issue and are formally affiliated with The People's Health Movement. They work on a whole range of factors including water, sanitation, nutrition, immunisation, women's empowerment, income generation, political campaigning, acting upon emergencies and providing consultancy services and advice.
And here is how your money will be spent -
£5 will pay for health cards to keep an eye on children's health and prevent malnutrition
£10 will immunise 360 children against tetanus, polio, diptheria and whooping cough
£20 trains local health workers to become laboratory technicians so they can identify diseases in human samples
£40 buys a sterile birthing kit so women in remote areas can give birth in clean, safe conditions
Thanks for reading and please do donate to either my page or one of my team mates other worthy causes.
