Story

Hello family and friends!

In July 2015 I will travel to Kosele, a very poor rural community in Kenya, to work with children and teachers in the Hope and Kindness organisation.

“Many of the people living in this community live on a dollar a day or less. It is often hard to know the best ways to help people in this situation. It is heartbreaking listening to a mother tell you that she has no food for her children, or an elderly member of the church say that she has not eaten for 3 days. Our biggest challenge is to help people to help themselves.”

During my stay I will be working with children and alongside teachers providing training, encouragement and new ideas.  All personal travel and living costs have been covered by myself.  Every penny you donate goes directly to Hope and Kindness organisation for new reading books.

I would be extremely grateful if you could give anything possible to this cause.  What may seem like loose change to us will provide reading books for children whose education is the only way out of a life of poverty.
