Story
The Wintershall Charitable Trust have been sharing the Story of Jesus for the past 25 years through performances of the Life of Christ and The Nativity on the Wintershall Estate in the heart of the Surrey countryside.
‘The Life of Christ’ play is an open air performance with a passionate volunteer cast and live animals set on the beautiful Wintershall estate with streams, lakes and woodland providing the backdrop. The play tells the story of Jesus from Birth to Resurrection and includes a Crucifixion scene where James, who plays Jesus, is lifted onto the Cross! There is the feeding of the 5,000 with bread passed around to the audience and Jesus preaching from a boat in the middle of the lake. This is a truly unique performance which brings the story to life and our audience are totally immersed and moved by the spectacle.
We have recently expanded our performances to include extracts of the Life of Christ which we have performed in Oxford, at Canterbury Cathedral and in Haslemere.
On Good Friday, we performed The Passion of Jesus in Trafalgar Square with our wonderful cast, horses, doves and donkeys to a capacity crowd of 20,000 people gathered under Nelson’s Column. It was an epic performance, placing Jesus at the heart of our capital city.
The Charitable Trust funds its performances through ticket sales and donations from the very generous public. We are committed to sharing the Jesus Story when and where we can.
