Hi everyone, thank you for taking a minute to read this :) We (Amelia- part time SPEAR staff member and myself- SPEAR Yard Manager) are running the Wolf Run to raise funds to help support new admissions to SPEAR.

Everyone should recognise by now that the equine world is currently in crisis, with more horses are being neglected, abandoned and left for dead than ever before. As with many smaller rescues, SPEAR is funded 100% by donations, whether from their own events, events run for them or by donations from the good of peoples hearts. As a result of this, the intake of animals has to correlate with the income of funds to ensure that the animals in SPEAR's charge receive a consistently good level of care. 

 I aim to raise as much money as possible to help with the costs involved when SPEAR admits new animals, the very least of which include transportation, a thorough veterinary examination including dental work, a full blood panel check and egg worm count, farrier work, additional feed, bedding, staff handling and care. In most instances at least some of the following would also be required; microchipping, passporting, castration, pregnancy blood tests/examination/scan, ongoing veterinary care/supplies in the case of prior wounds/dental problems/worm burden, chiropractic/physio work, remedial farriery and specialist feed to name a few.

My target at the moment is to raise £500, but hopefully we will smash this and raise much more!
