Story
The Alex Galanis Charitable Foundation is looking for willing and able volunteers (male and female!) to grow their moustaches this November to remember the greatest of all moustaches, that once proudly worn by Alex Galanis.
Team:
Tom Galanis
Ross Davies
Andy Caras Altas
Mauro Orrù
Alex Baulf
Renowned as the Artist Formerly Known As Mr Pringle after the 'tache was shaved asunder in later life, Alex's friends knew his moustache as one of the things most recognisable about him since the mid 70s. He became known as 'Swiss Tony' amongst his children's friendship groups, after the Fast Show character.
So what better way to remember Alex than to grow your own facial hair piece this November!
Flexibility will also be allowed, should you wish to begin or end early should growing a 'tache really not suit your professional appeal. Tom Galanis will be beginning this facial hair crusade on 21st October, rather than the customary 1st November to a) hopefully be in a position to boost support and b) shave it off early so as not to immediately scare his newborn baby upon arrival.
We are selecting an alternate charity for Movember, in support of Mark Wright's epic solo cycle ride from London to Hong Kong which is nearing its conclusion.
Mark, a family friend, left London in mid-April and plans to arrive in Hong Kong at some point in October. Not only have his trails inspired many of his friends to get up off the sofa and do some exercise, and indeed pledge to a cause very dear to his heart, it has been impossible not to gaze in absolute awe at his ever-growing facial hair. As such, to support Mark's remarkable efforts on both bike and face, the Alex Galanis Charitable Foundation is calling upon all Movember stars to stand up and be counted in support of his noble charity, Breast Cancer Care. Follow Mark's amazing story in blog format at http://thewrightwayeast.wordpress.com/. It truly is an inspirational read.
