Story
Imagine, living life to one day be told you can no longer do what you are passionate about doing.
Imagine then, slowly, day by day, becoming weaker, unable to complete the simplest of tasks.
Then imagine to be told you have cancer in the brain and just a few months to live.
Can you imagine?
I know I can't.
I can however remember being a witness to my Step Father having to experience this.
I can remember the turmoil, caused. The anger, confusion, fear, as my Step Father went through this.
The pain and shock my mum experienced as she tried to grasp some understanding and sense from the fact that death will be taking love from her life, for the second time.
It is thanks to St Barnabas, that my parents were able to better cope with this.
It is thanks to St Barnabas, that my Step Father came to terms with accepting his death.
It is thanks to St Barnabas that my Step Father died a happy man.
It is thanks to St Barnabas, that my mum had the support to find her strength to get through this.
It is thanks to St Barnabas, that a year later my mum can say Goodbye to Alan Freeman and know in her heart, she is free from the pain of loss.
Alan, this evening I am walking 20 miles from midnight in memory of you
I miss your laid back attitude, your "no worries" approach towards life. I thank you for making my mum happy and taking good care of her. It was wonderful to have had you as a Step Father. After being so close to my real father, I could not have asked for a better man to have called Dad.
And St Barnabas.........
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!
Let's make tonight a "NIGHT TO REMEMBER"
Please everyone.........
