Story
Hi all,
As most of you know a good friend of ours, Richard Hollington, sadly died as a result of injuries sustained during Operation Herrick 12 in Afganistan back in 2010. Since then his family have done some amazing work, in Rich's honour, of raising money to help service men and women injured representing our Armed Forces.
The latest on which is for a charity called Hounds For Heroes. Hounds For Heroes is a charity based locally in Petersfield that aim to provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured disabled men and women both within our Armed Forces and Civilian Emergency Services.
The charity has since announced that it plans on naming one of their first 5 dogs after Rich, the dog is to be named Yomper Richie. Since hearing this news I have wanted to try and raise whatever money possible to help this excellent cause.
After a student lifestyle that included little exercise, mixed with an inability to swim I decided my goal would be to complete a triathlon. Therefore I have registered myself to compete in the HSBC annual Triathlon to take part on 16th September at Dawney Lake, London.
I have been putting the hours in bigtime at the pool and on the bike and hope that not only will this be a personal achievment for myself but that I can raise a nice amount of money to go towards the training and aftercare of Yomper Richie.
Thanks
Forrest
